#1-24 in Test 2 (all multiple choice) is due tomorrow. We will check answers tomorrow, so be sure to come prepared!
Test 2 07-Jun-2016 07-29-14
Here is the schedule of HW that will be assigned to prepare for the Regents.
Here is Test 1 from the Green Book, which we will begin using next week to prepare for the Algebra Regents. Test 1 will be due on Tuesday (6/6), and you will have the entire double period on Monday to work on it.
Here are the solutions in case you want to check your work early. It just doesn’t make sense to look at the answers before you’ve done the problems, so don’t.
Below are the slides from today’s lesson. In particular, focus on the slide that lays out to steps to creating your own quadratic-linear system.
Quadratic Linear Systems Slides
Homework: Create FIVE quadratic-linear systems. For each system you create, use ANY two roots of your choice. Use ANY linear equation.
THEN, solve each of your quadratic-linear systems algebraically by:
- Setting the linear and quadratic equal to each other
- Moving all terms to one side
- Factoring to find the x-values
- Finding the corresponding y-values
Please do NOT work in groups. I do not want to see identical quadratic-linear systems!
Quiz: The quiz on Monday will be on solving quadratic equations. It is a check-in intended to help you prepare for your test on Thursday, but the quiz still counts so please study!
As we get closer to the Regents, it is a good idea to get more practice with multiple choice questions.
Due Thursday, complete the multiple choice questions below and then upload your answers in the google form below.
Put your work on a separate piece of paper to be handed in on Thursday. You may use a graphing calculator.

For your assignment, you will be completing the MULTIPLE CHOICE ONLY of the June 2015 Regents (see file below). You will also be submitting your answers in the linked google form. I’d like you all to work honestly, without using any aids or working in a group. Assessments such as this will help guide our upcoming Regents Review, so complete your work to the best of your own abilities. Complete all of your work on looseleaf, as this will be collected.
This is due the Thursday after we get back from break.
Lastly, please include an accurate e-mail address. I’m trying out a new program that automatically sends you back your score. Please keep in mind that you won’t be graded on correctness. Rather, you will be graded on effort, which includes the work you show on a separate piece of paper that will be collected!
